Hi all.

I'm new here and ready to take fate into my own hands.

My Miele dryer is refusing to dry anything. Bleeps and reverts to cool air mode after a few minutes. Timed drying does the same.

I know this issue is a common fault and have read the many fixes offered by the member 'zipper' which I will try so thanks in advance. I do still need help with the error code tho and maybe help with what to try first.

Model: Miele T294C
Serial: 55/090357980

I would check the heating element for continuity. I would check the termal cut-out also.

Thanks for the reply - don't think its the heater element as every now and again if I clean the lint trap out or mess with the door it will work again, on - which its doing now.

But the failures are getting more frequent now. What I really would love is if someone could decode the error code I posted - I can't find any guide or key online?

5 long and 5 short flashes.

F55? Max drying time exceeded.

When does your error occur?
Is it after some time or is it immediately at the start?

Hi.

I don't see why it would say Exceeded Drying Time when its a fully automatic dryer - can it exceed drying time?

Also, when it fails it fails within 5 minutes - so F55 does't make sense.

I'll strip it down to test the various bits as Zipper describes but just wanted to see if I could get a head start via fault code.

After googling f55 it seems to be an assortment of possible issues and not just exceeding the time limit.

Some of the technical documents (for other miele dryers) refer to
Checking for blockages
Checking the heater bank
Checking the relay for the heater
Checking the thermal limiter
Checking the residual moisture sensors
