Can we have a bit more information about the style - or even pictures - and what exactly you are trying to achieve please? Based on what you have said so far, the answer could be yes ... or there again, no.

at the moment the wall units are a standard door 600 wide and 650 high, now the plan is to convert to bifold and i just want to know if both panels would need to be 325 high or could we go something like 390/260, the panels we are looking at are 390 so this would mean cutting one rather than two

I'm still struggling to understand the overall concept I'm afraid. But as far as I can see, the choice is yours - there is no rule that says 'it must be ...' - after all you are the one to have to live with it.

Again, a picture or diagram might make it easier to understand your design plan.

Standard height for wall units are 720 , yours are short at 650.?
Panel? what panel?
Bi-fold? doors? horizontal or vertical ?

horizontal bi fold with 2 panels so as my doors are 650 do i have to have them both at 325? or can i have 1 at 390 and the other at 260 making a total height of 650

As you say the lower one will be smaller then it will work - just not sure if it will be easy on the eye?
