Hi, I'm just finishing building a cut roof. I wondered what the allowable deviation is between rafter heights. They're all basically level, but I've cut my last one and its about 2mm below adjacent ones. Is this acceptable, and what is the acceptable deviation?
Any answers much appreciated as couldn't find any answers anywhere.
Cheers

Ok, cheers for reply. Engineer by trade and 2mm would be 'it's a scrapper!', so half torn between what I've seen  , and what I expect the BC guy is going to want to see. Got to relax a bit more :D

BC won't give a chuff. There is a massive difference between wood and metal. Go drop a feeler gauge on any wood products in ten years time and see what the difference is then!

from my college days,2mm is what you were allowed on any piece of work.

Cheers for replies. To be honest it wasn't even 2mm in the end, just looked bigger. I couldn't find a spec for allowable tolerance anywhere online when I looked!
The wall that was previously built for the extension definitely wasn't built with close tolerances in mind, the guy must of been using a straight edge made out of spaghetti!
