Best lockoff kits

The padlock looks like the type you get on suitcases?! One quick pull downwards and it'll come off.

I use the kit from Reece Safety, http://www.reecesafety.co.uk/MCB loto kits.htm

It does the job. The locks are the same make

I don't think you should expect the MCB kits to be robust to stand up to vandalism or a determined individual who wants to remove the lock.

The breaker lockouts are plastic as are the lock case.

As the MCB case is plastic it is very easy to break the frame (were the lockout pins insert into the holes on the MCB) and remove the lockout kit intact.

It is only going to be a strong as the weakest point as the rest of the kit and MCB is plastic having high security brass padlocks will not give any additional security.

These kits are only going to stop people accidently switching the power back on - a bit like some locks only keep an honest man honest.

The problem I find with the masterlock kit,is not the padlock but the locking mechanism does actually stop the iso or mcb from being kept in the fully locked position and they can still be energised with hasp and lock in place.

You should demonstrate that problem to the safety officer of the company - he ought to be very interested to learn that he's issuing safety equipment which can fail and cause deaths.

I have already expressed my concern to the head of department and the person assigned to evaluate and audit the engineers.
So far very little has been done about this.

I have a Reece safety kit plus a few bits and bats I've added to it over the years and it'll lock out any board apart from wylex standard.

I guess with those you could at least hamper attempts to get it back on by replacing the fuse carrier with one devoid of fuse wire and screws

You can fit a blank in place of the fuse back plate if the risk is high, but the fuse in your pocket usually suffices.
