Hello,

I have just moved house and having left behind my Texecom Ricochet I want to fit another one!

I was looking at buying the "Texecom Premier Elite GER-0004 24-W Live New Complete Kit" and have a couple of questions.

Firstly I assume I can add an extra wired remote keypad?

I am also trying to decide between the COM-IP or COM-GSM module. Can I use the app on my iPhone to arm/dis arm with both? Can both alert my mobile when the alarm goes off? Not expecting the COM-IP to text me, but can it email?

Has anyone got any experience of the new wireless control unit and would recommend it over the previous panel with expansion unit?

Also previously when using the SmartKey it didn't seem to always connect first time when wanting to disarm/arm, is that normal? Didn't really bother me but drove the Mrs mad when she was trying to get out for work!

Thanks in advance for any help

Jim

1. yes extra keypad
2. gsm to send text / or as a comip(cant use as ip and text)
3. comip can be used to send signals to texbase montex to then send emails on, a bit envolved.

press the button, lights up hold for a few seconds and release,

Thanks for replying.

To clarify, can I use a COM-IP and COM-GSM modules on the same panel?

So really for arming / disarming using the app im better using the GSM module as that can also notify me of alerts via text?

No .... You can receive texts from the gsm but not com IP unless you have montex running on a computer 24/7 with text base for outgoing emails ...

put com ip on port 1 and gsm module on port 2

you will need texbase and montex on a pc available 24 7 for the emails to work.

The GSM module can be used as a gsm unit or under gprs mode for ip coms.
When it is running as GSM it cant do ip functions and vice versa.

to text and to do emails you need both.
to do text only you need gsm
to do email via montex texbase you can have the gsm in gprs mode and programed on panel as com-ip or have a com ip unit.

Hello,

Thanks for the replies......I don't want my PC on 24/7 so email alerts arnt an option!

I have also have just realised to use the SmartKey App key it needs an IP address, to if using the GSM module it will need to be in GPRS mode which I believe in turn means I can't text it?

If I use the Live control panel it will be on show due to the built in keypad, am I able to plug the GSM device on a longish cable so I can hide it in a cupboard/loft or something?

Thanks

No ! It only comes with a small lead !

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmmmm, that could be a slight problem! Seems to be a slight oversight by Texecom! Could I chop the lead and extend it?

The other kits don't come with the wireless sounder so are going to work out more expensive.

You could split the fly lead that gets supplied in the middle, and join it to something longer.
