help, please!!

i've got a lounge with gloss painted walls…the walls ar flat but the paint has quite a rough roller texture…rathe than just sugar soaping and painting over i've tried sanding the paint a little to get a flatter surface.

problem: hand sanding doesn't even scratch the surface…random orbit with 80 grit doesn't do much more…belt sander works a treat but the issue is that the paint then comes off in coin to larger size sections. where the paint comes off,it's then impossible to feather the edge back to the plaster as the edge keeps lifting…i don't think they mist coated the walls, so it's half flak in off half sticking…

any ideas how to proceed on the rest of the walls???

thanks but want painted plaster walls…never been keen on the lining paper look...

Worth getting a plasterer in and skimming them again? Sounds like a nightmare on your hands tbh!
