Hell no Hep2o

I've used plastic on and off over the years and never had a problem. Most blown fittings I've seen it can clearly be seen that it was not tightened after pushing it on, pipes cut at a hell of an angle, no inset, all of the above.

Plastic is without a doubt much more prone to blockages, theres a slightly greater resistance in plastic pipes over copper (due to the material and the fact the inner diameter is usualy smaller) and iron/magnatite loves to stick to it.

I'm however opting to fit my heating with 10mm copper rather than 15mm plastic, as once its done it is pretty much permanant as long as system is kept clean as I still have my slight doubts about plastic, that and the cost of fittings is extorsionate.

Anyone read through the Hep Installation manual? Im sad enough to have done and I can garentee that should something fail within the (50 year warrantie now?) then they will have a clause to get out it anyway.

SGM, I agree that plastic pipe manufacturers will find a way out of any guarantee. The only way the guarantee can be honoured without doubt is if their own fitters installed the pipe and fittings. The guarantees on offer is not worth the paper they are written on. The guarantee is only there to fool the buyer. I have been to a few fittings that have blown.

James.
