Smeg dishwasher DC122SS-1 'soak programme' problem

Hi guys,
My washing machine is stuck on the rinse programme and it won't do anything but beep...also when I try to put on a wash it just beeps and goes back to flashing on the 'soak programme' icon but doesn't do anything.
There's no water stuck in the bottom and I've tried resetting it (open the door and press the 'programme button' 4 times in 3 seconds etc) but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Have you tried holding the On/Off button in for a number of seconds, maybe up to 10? On a lot of appliances that will reset the machine and cancel any part-completed programmes.

It's somehow fixed itself but seems to do this once a month or so...thanks for the advice though I'll try it when it goes wrong in 28 days or so lol
