Baxi Bermuda backboiler - central heating iffy after water

Best thing about being a plumber is that you can be a hero. I'm retired though, so I can also tell tightwads, moaners etc etc etc to ...... .....

There is a "thanks" button, by the way ;)

cheers Mick, alright to take the head off without bleeding the system?

Just a note on jamming it open, seems like the system will just keep heating water and chucking it round the rads whilst it's jammed open - so although it's a way of getting heat into the radiators it's not something you could leave to its own devices

I'm not 100% without looking the number up but I think yours is too old. If it doesn't pop off when you press a button on the side, no, you can't swap the whole head. You can change the motor .

Quite - otherwise there wouldn't be any point having one which worked properly :D.
It's just till you fix it.
AS I said, the CH programmer and CH thermostat won't do anything.
If you just leave the CH valve open on the lever where it's not far enough for it to turn the boiler on, then the HW switch will make the rads warm and not, cos the CH valve's open.
