Wind coming under flat roof

Hello,

I'm new to here so I hope someone can help!

I have a flat roof over my living room, no idea how old it is. I've lived here for 6 years and overall it seems to be in pretty good nick and is not leaking. The extension was done in the 90s. At the side of the house, the flat roof seems to have come away from the top of the wall, creating a gap, which the wind is currently howling through! There is a radiator underneath so I assume that stress from heating and cooling may have contributed to the problem.

I'm not sure what I can do about this - can I just fill the gap? If so what should I use? I'm not very experienced with DIY.

Unfortunately I can't really see what's underneath due to the fascia being on the outside and inside the previous owners put in coving. I was considering removing the coving to get a better look but it's the only thing in the way of the wind at the moment, so I'd rather only take it off when I can solve the problem.

I think a picture of this would help, Jenny......if there's a gap big enough to allow the wind through, I'd be very surprised if water wasn't in there too.
It's sunshine that makes the flat roof move about a bit, and a flashing is used to counteract this.
The problem needs to be addressed from the outside, obviously and there are various methods that can help you.

Thanks for your reply John. I'd be surprised if there was water in there, as the fascia overhangs the gap on the outside, but I guess some might have blown in with the windy weather recently.

I'm away this weekend but will try to get a picture up on here early next week.

I'm sure we can come up with something, but in the meantime leave the coving be and get back to us with some pics.
