Help, after two days and two plumbers, the boiler finally works but smokes grey the whole time, underfloor heating is working...
I cant speak much French but am quite sure it shouldn't smoke this much.

If it smokes, then it is not set up correctly and it won't be long before it stops, full of soot, so you're gonna need someone who knows what he is doing..

This boiler is new, we bought it two years ago, and have just fitted it, so I doubt if its in guarantee now. The oil was delivered to three other neighbours at the same time, they have no problems.
How do I find out if its in condensing mode?
We have noticed no oil in the tiger loop. He is not familiar with this.
The plumber is coming back for the third time today....
I will call another plumber who has been reccomended to us, but this plumber who lives in our village has a very good rep?
The boiler is working and is not locking out, but does keep going on and off.
Just stinks outside and smokes grey. The plumber said take the fumes up a pipe and out higher so we don't smell it so much. He wants us to keep it on until he comes back today.

Are you burning kerosene C2 [28 second] or Heavy oil D [35 second] fuel? Some modern boilers WON'T burn Heavy Oil, that is common in many parts of Europe.

The boiler will need to be set up correctly with the right nozzle, oil pressure and CO2 setting. Smoke reading should be 0.

It is normal for a condensing boiler to 'Plume' in cold weather where the water vapour in the flue gases forms 'grey smoke' much as out breathe on a cold day.

Get someone in who knows what they are doing.

The boiler is working minimal exhaust now, but the tiger loop is showing no signs of fuel in it, and the Atkinson top I have to keep pushed in to flow the oil into the system, if I take my finger off it locks out.
My husband thinks its Perhaps fuel starvation.
Both are new could it be a fault with one of these?

Unless you have your head stuck in the boiler flue, the smell shouldn't be too bad, but there will always be some pong.
The Atkinson gauge......is it the one with the tap that you turn, and the plunger which you pull to allow fuel to be seen in the sight tube, or is it on the tiger loop itself?
Photo please if you can!
28 sec kero is clear and colourless, 35 sec oil is red in colour.
John :)

Again as others have asked what fuel are you burning. In the UK we burn kerosene in France. This is probably the problem.

I think only UK, Ireland, Canada and Japan burn kerosene for heating. Most other places use HEAVY OIL as I understand...

...who can advise me differently?

In the UK the common domestic fuel is Class C2 Kerosene (28 Second)
fuel used in commercial appliances is generally Class D Gas oil (35 Second)
In France the common fuel is Mazehout? which is around 32 Second so between Kero and Gas oil in density, your big mistake is expecting a UK boiler to operate in France Why did you not purchase a FRENCH boiler for use in FRANCE (which is also FRENCH!)

Thanks for all the replies, I looked at the receipt and no where does it say what fuel was used so will try to find out via the neighbours. This is my first oil boiler and didnt know the fuels were different from the Uk, so of course had I known I would of bought one here.
Its running very well now on a drum of fuel next to the boiler which the plumber set up. It just doesnt work, and locks when connected
through the tiger loop, and Atkinson top....
The plumbers comming back Monday, thanks I will tell him your comments on different oils, in the UK.

I would expect that the boiler COULD be set up to burn the different fuel.

But a UK manufacturer would not have done the design work to determine the best combination of nozzles and pressure and would not be ably to supply parts or advice.

It is these lesser understood aspects which the boiler engineer will advise on and which if ignored will create problems.

Did the plombier set up the boiler with a flue gas analyser?

Tony

The grub screw has been removed from the fuel pump to allow the flow and return from the oil pump to the Tigerloop?
