At our club the glasswasher was leaking, I have checked the hose and all connections, more or less gave up. I then found a nailed on panel which I took off and behind there was a waste trap with a hole!! How the hell can this be?
If you hit a waste pipe with a hammer, it's too bouncy, I never come across this before, any idea?

Is it possible to poke something down from above, to attempt to clear a blockage?
I've had plastic pipes split due to UV exposure and some bloody rodent has chewed through 'er indoors turbo pipe :p so I guess they're not too fussy about diet!
John :)

Plastic turns brittle in time, and when struck will shatter as appears in this photo. or as above someone has pushed a rod down the waste to clear a blockage

As per Bosswhite.

Over time they go brittle, rodding would easily cause this when they do

Thanks all, don't think it's rodding as the pipe is too short but can see teeth marks! This is in the club bar area and maybe we have rodent in the cellar!

I hope he is a member.

Really hope so, could get rid of some of the troublemaker

The external waste pipe was so degraded in our place, that a single tap caused it to crumble. I replaced and glossed for posterity.

Where does the cellar man dispose of the line cleaner, After he does the lines. It is corrosive,
