Please can someone tell me if it is ok to run a 3.2kw device off a newly installed 13amp supply.

Do you mean a newly installed socket circuit?

We had a supply put in for a 3kw shower but have now found another that uses 3.2kw and were hoping it would be ok to run this instead. it is a dedicated supply from fuse box to isolator. we would ask our electrician but he is on holiday and we wish to proceed with our plans. your advice would therefore be much appreciated
 
What is the rating of the device (fuse or MCB) in the consumer unit that controls this circuit.

I can't see there will be any difference between a 3kW and 3.2kW appliance.
However it would not be advisable to run it through a plug or FCU with a 13A fuse.
A double pole switch should be used near the shower location.

Having said that a 3.2kW shower isn't going to be much good.
Are there such things?

Check the mcb for the shower supply at the fuse board. Read the rating and revert back.

If the supply is fed direct to the board only an idiot to limit that at 13 amp. There no such thing as a 13 amp MCB

Most water heating electric showers are rated at between 8.5 kW and 10.5 kW. Which /230 would be 40A / 45A.

For any sound advice you really do need to be clearer, and the electricians on holiday might be a ruse (it's been done many times before).

A very general normal situation would be 40 amp at fuse board, 10mm TE cable feed to bathroom, pull cord switch isolation, 10mm feed to shower unit.

If you can, measure the width and depth of the cable somewhere on route or post a picture with a measuring scale / ruler / tape alongside.
Also describe exactly how the circuit runs because there could be a sub board alternative to direct feed from the main board.

Sorry, I think I have confused you all. The shower is a mains water pressure unit. the electric power of 3.2KW is purely to run some LED lights and a steam generator as it is a steam shower unit. The shower manufacturer states it uses up to 3.2kw and requires an appropriate supply to meet that requirement. does this help

The shower is an Eden Showers Model Sofina - AM2015.

What's the rating of the MCB for this circuit, and is it RCD protected?

Reading from the circuit chart it states that the shower is part of ring main 2/2, Sockets and shower, Wiring type A, Reference Method 100, number of points 8, Conductors Live 2.5 sq mm, cpc 1.5 sq mm, BS(EN)60898, Type B, Rating (A) 16, short circuit capacity (ka) 6, RCD operating current 30.
