Accessing Flush & Fill valves?

You could be very lucky and have a cistern that just sits on top of the pan and is held in place by wall screws, OR as I suspect, the whole toilet needs to be removed. The flush valve could be a twist off valve in two parts but you would need to remove for the fill valve.

Can you post pics of the inside of the cistern?

that's why plumbers don't like back-to-wall toilets.

Don't think I'm that lucky mate... The cistern is definitely not screwed to the wall so I'm guessing it must bolt to the pan with fasteners from the inside of the cistern.
I'm hoping there's a flexible hole from the underside of the cistern to the water inlet but looking at this photo I took it isn't looking great !!

I haven't got a pic of the inside but maybe I can just swap out the internals with a like-for-like replacement...

Have a look in the cistern, you may find that there are dome headed screws inside it on the base that sandwich a rubber sealing washer, they screw into captive nuts in the toilet. Remove them and the cistern lifts up, fill valve connected by a flexible pipe, seen that once before.
