Hi new boy here need some advice.
Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between a central heating pump, and a hot water pump. I have 2 pumps in my boiler room, one for the heating system and one for the hot water that comes from the hot taps. Thanks.

physical difference? the latter has to be bronze or stainless steel bodied

Thanks Matt for your reply, so if I ask for bronze / ss bodied pump that's all I need to say?

if you already have one, why do you need another? They come in various sizes and powers.

the "bronze" ones are extremely expensive. Often painted yellow. The dark red ones (may be other colours) are the more common iron ones.

Thanx to you all for your replays don't need a new pump, as someone asked why do I need to replace it, its a case of elelimination, some days hot water, other days none, I have tried so many things people have suggested but nothing seems to work. I'm a bit naffed off with it actually. I was going to try a new pump, I can always keep the one I take off. I know that the single pipe system is defernatley not good but I have to make the best of what I have. Thanx to you all again. Steve.
