I have a 5 door Vauxhall Astra [Club Twinport] (07 plate). The rear jet washer is blocked some how. The front jets work nicely (although one was initially blocked but the fine needle tip worked well) and the jet motor works perfectly.

My question is how can I get access to the rear jet washer as it's not really documented. The jet washer is located within the upper rear breaking light bar.

Please see the following pictures;

Any help would be grateful received. Quite the DIY-car newbie![/b]

More than likely, you'll need to remove the plastic trim from the inside of the tailgate.
This is usually held by 'poppers' which are secured to the trim, and press into holes formed on the steel panel beneath.
Great care is needed when prising the trim away....I gently lever all of the way around the trim with wood wedges, and eventually the trim comes clear.
If any screws are there, unscrew them first.
The rubber water pipe should now be visible at the back of the nozzle.....pull it off and try the washer motor.....water should gush out. The nozzle can now be flushed clear, and your needle will help!
Now....before you start......Does the washer motor actually work? you can hear it spin. Next, if you run the motor, does water pool anywhere underneath the car? If it does, post back!

Thanks for your response. The motor definitely works and there are no wet patches in the boot or lining. I will do a check tomorrow to make sure nothing is going onto the ground. I'm fairly certain that there is no leaking and that it's just a blocked jet, as there was a blocked jet on the front windscreen too.

I'll post back with what I discover

Don't know if you have fixed your problem or not, but the problem is unlikely to be the rear washer nozzle.
The problem will be the washer pump, the pump is for both the front and rear washers and it runs forward for the front washer and in reverse for the rear washer and they tend to clog up and stop working.
It is a quick and easy fix, fill the washer bottle with hot water which has had a small amount of soda crystals added. Then used front washer then rear washer and repeat until empty, repeat if both washers still not working properly then refill with your regular mixture, be that just water or whatever other fluid youuse.
