A listed building, a qualified electrician and a job to re wire inside. The lounge has a large full width long heave wooden beam in the middle of the room so he was asked to place any wires on the backside not to be seen and then could be pipe cased off in timber and colour coated to match the beam; four 1.5 twin and earths were needed as the building was solid walled and wires could not be hidden or chased into the brickwork; a simple instruction one would assume; but no, the next day visiting the site; open the front door to see four grey cables on the front of the beam fixed with large grey plastic clips and spanning15 feet. What did I say; now I have got to cover it up on the face. Electricians and qualified as well.

Earlier another qualified electrician was engaged to fit power sockets and switch plates in an adjacent room; I gave him a photo copy of the plan he did the job, posted his bill and then I told him he could not be paid; why? because there were two power double plate sockets missing; he said the're weren't I said look at the copy plan I gave you and get it sorted, he did and he was paid...Qualified Electricians.

No you haven't; get him back to redo the work in compliance with the specification. (and no junction boxes; the entire lengths of cable will be replaced.)

God help you when you get the Gas Fitters in
