Hi everyone. i am hopefully going to be doing a garage conversion and would just like to find out a couple of things before it gets closer to starting. the garage needs to be built up higher and longer to reach the front of the house. i will also have to build up a new timber floor. i would just like to find out about the cavity wall. at the minute its just a single skin wall, so will i be able to just build the internal side wall in timber?
also, would the roof just be supported on the external brickwork?
think thats all i need to know for now. any advice welcome.
thanks all,
john.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Do you know if the wall plate will be ok supported on the outter skin brick wall? or will i need to beef up the timbers on the inside to give extra support?
Cheers
