Hi just come back from ford dealers and been quoted 180 quid for a new remote key fob cutting and reprogramming for a Ford Fiesta 2011 plate ....is there a cheaper way without being ripped off with dealer prices ..cheers

Enquire at independent key cutting place.

The one local to me cuts keys, decodes car keys, reads the chips and programs key fobs to vehicle. Lot cheaper than dealer prices as well.

Bit confusing because ford said they also need my car half a day to do it ,I can get a uncut ford flip key fob off ebay with chip for about 28 quid but ford say they are only people who can reprogram it to start car and control locking etc

Do follow Alan's advice......at least you drive in, get the key done and can test the new one there and then.
Much grief is avoided this way!

Yes go with AlanE and Burnernam's advice. I got Jaguar X Type remotes (remember they're just Mondeos in a different dress) done by an indie key guy. At the time all I had was a pair of key blades to unlock the doors/steering lock, and two unprogrammed fobs, ie I didn't have a chipped key or a remote for him to clone the codes from. He did it no problem in a few minutes.

Hi been to local locksmith and he does notdo them, nearest large city to me is leeds so, might be someone there who can do it

Found sumone who can do it supplied and cut n reprogrammed half price of ford so that's sorted cheers

Hi Alan,
Could you possibly tell me where in Essex you got your key done as I am after one the same for a 2012 Fiesta?

Thanks
