My TV when switched on from standby or when newly plugged in displays a screen with the message " Do not Power OFF ""Scan""

This then counts from zero to 100% and then restarts from zero continuously.

The set will not respond to the remote when this is happening.

The TV is connected to a Sky HD+ box.

How can I resolve this?

If it is connected via hdmi then select source on your new TV remote until you see a picture. At the moment it sounds like it is scanning for free view channels!

It sounds very much like the TV is trying to complete its auto set-up procedure. This means it is trying to tune in the aerial signal (Freeview) but not seeing anything from the aerial at the moment.

If you have a working TV aerial then connect it directly to the TV and allow the TV to tune itself in. If there's no working aerial then it's a bit more tricky. You could take the TV to a neighbour. Once tuned then the TV should operate as normal.

Assuming no aerial available, connect the RF output of the Sky+HD Digibox to the TV aerial input socket and turn the Digibox on.

Once the TV has scanned the analogue channels and found one, it might then be happy.

It would appear that the problem stems from the EEPROM in the AV board. I have replaced the board

Wow, that was a bit extreme. A bit like replacing your car because the wheel bearing failed. What did you do with the old AV board? I hope it went as an exchange so it can have its EEPROM replaced and be recycled.
