Hi, I need some advice on tile sealing.

I have finished tiling my shower and now need to seal the tile before grouting, yesterday I tested the sealer on a tile to make sure it looked ok, but this morning when I buffed it the tile remained streaky, is this correct? If so can I get rid of the streaks?

I used a sealer from Topps tiles and applied with a brush

Any help much appreciated

In short you will have to go back to Topps with the sealing container and your particular complaint.

FWIW: did you wipe down the surfaces before fixing? Were the surfaces perfectly dry before you applied any sealer - some sealers can be applied twice - out the box before setting and after setting.

You may well have dried sealant on top of the tile. Most porcelain sealers are impregnating sealers - they are supposed to soak in, and you then wipe the excess off. If you left it overnight before buffing it may well have dried on the face.

You should be able to get a remover, and then seal again

Why do porcelain tiles need to be sealed. Aren't they waterproof anyway? Topps Tiles are great at selling you products you don't need.
