I have an old 1960s Aga in the house I bought and want to sell it.
Given the weight and complexity of this thing, how best should I approach this subject? Are there companies out there that buy them?

You don't say which fuel ?

1960s could even be a coal fired Aga !

If its gas or oil there is probably a market for it but because of the weight and transport difficulties it may be harder that you might imagine if in a more remote location.

When I wanted to buy a gas range cooker I used a web site that puts those providing transport in touch with those looking for something moved. I got a very reasonable price for bringing it to me about £45 I seem to remember but although heavy two people could just manage it with difficulty.

It's a gas fired aga that also heats a domestic water supply. Located in Hertfordshire within the M25. Looks bloody heavy though.

Oil fired units very difficult to sell, last few we removed were scrapped.

Gas ones have a value but it's not much.

Solid mineral fuel, wood fuel, LPG, Pressure jet oil/biofuel. Try upstaging someone else instead.

Agas are built in situ so I would expect it would need dismantling and removing piecemeal.
Other makes, Alpha for example, arrived whole and would be removed whole - needs special lifting and moving kit though. Alpha's own van had a heavy load taillift fitted and I believe they even used a tracked crawler truck to get them into some places.
