Hi guys,

I've been meaning to get this zoned heating system installed for a while, It's supposed to save people money & time (like Nest, Honeywell, Hive etc). It's called "Heat Genius". Now, normally, I'd go for one of the more popular brands as listed above^, however, Heat Genius has a smart zoning system which automatically learns It's users heating patterns/zone patterns over time which I think would be very useful for me. What do you guys think? Good investment idea?

Looks like a good system, very similar to Honeywell Evohome. One potential downside of it is that you need to buy a separate hub to connect it to the WiFi, taking up space on your router's Ethernet ports. Things like Evohome have WiFi built in to the main controller and so don't need an external router

I think I'd want to know who was making their kit for them (or if they're making it all themselves) before I put any serious money their way

They seem to have made the same mistake as Nest on their VAT ratings so the taxman might be after them shortly, which might be a concern for installers.....

Looks OK but I've never heard of it before and I've never seen one. Personally, I like to be able to have a hands-on test of a new product before I recommend it to anyone

Had a look , they don't seem to have heard of OIL fired central heating! Hmmmm??

OpenTherm? - NO

TPI? - NO

Weather Comp? - NO

In other words - its shyte

Evohome for me everytime. Ticks pretty much every box. All that is missing is a signal booster for larger properties.
