The only thing you can really do is to get other quotes and then, if you feel its necessary, get your favourite company to match it.....
However, its more important to ask what sort of access they need, such as below floors, in the loft (insulation removed) for the job to be done correctly.
I've seen 'reputable' firms simply squirt the solution around, when access wasn't good......hopeless!

The main thing, to be honest, is getting a guarantee for future resale as unfortunately that's the climate we live in. And for that I need one of the bigger names. Plus there aren't many contractors in this rural area.
Access is perfect in one bedroom/lounge below as all the joists and floorboards are exposed. The other bedroom I would have to dismantle completely as at some point the joists have been replaced (exposed in the kitchen below) otherwise everything has been boarded over above and below. So I think that's a non starter.
The quote is for leaving the loft insulation in situ with an extra amount if I remove the insulation and they treat that area as well.
Not able myself but my builder will do it (at a price) but he is not happy about hauling the stuff back up. It seems the property is on record as having loft insulation so if I need to get new, will either get no grant or just a part grant. It's all expense on expense.
I thought about suggesting that we lift the insulation and they do the whole area but at the lower figure. No harm in trying I suppose.

any preservation company will give you a guarantee that will comply with the bank/building society scrutiny,and even the so called big boys will suggest it is an insurance backed 1 in case they go out of business.
if you want to go down that route of lifting to save money then do,cant for the life of me see the point of them trying to carry out a treatment if its in situ.industry knowledge that they wont get to the underside of a 1st floor as usually there is plasterboard attached to them,so that leaves 3 sides to treat,and your quote so far has said they want to leave the fibreglass there?so that leaves just the top to treat.AND there willing to guarantee that are they??mmmm,that in itself would start alarm bells ringing for me.
