How to cut in half a thick metal bar.

Allen keys are available as a set - I'd say 5 or 6 mm personally, and Torx keys are the same. I have a Kamasa set, but a driver set too.
John :)
PS the other guys have the right idea - I just concentrated on the cutting due to the original post......follow them!

You know when the gate comes off ie the restrictor is dealt with will the window actually go out much further anyway or are the bits that attach it to the wall restrictive too?

So guys do you get mini torx screwdrivers because literally the windows going to get in the way of any 8 inch plus screwdriver.

And what way to bolts and screws usually turn to get them off. So that I know to keep on going in one direction and not supertighten etc accidentally so that it appears neither direction makes it come off.

The screws will all be conventional right hand threads so undo them anti clockwise.
As for the tools - well, a motor factor could be your best bet, if you haven't any at all......no good buying a full size Torx screwdriver just to find you cant get it in!
Buy a cheap set of both allen and torx would be my recommendation (but not ones from pound shops!)

I agree with John about getting a cheap (ish) set of various types and sizes. As I said earlier, ages ago I bought a set from the local cheap hardware place. It's got a little ratchet handle with it (a handle that's at a right angle to the bit, so gives plenty of "head room" and only drives one way, so you can use it in confined spaces. It's all much better than it looks, and the bits are perfectly good for hand (as opposed to power) use. Cost about a fiver IIRC. You can also get "stubby" screwdriver handles with bit sets. Got me out of trouble a time or two that has.

Dave, do you have a pic or a link to your type of hacksaw?
I'll just search it now but what is a motor factor? Is it a smaller screwdriver?

Oh and again same thing with the hexagonal allen key part is that anti clockwise turning too?

Guys the only thing I want to know now is what does removing the hexagonal bit do (on it's own)? Then I'll either get on with removing the restrictor by the hexagonal bit removal if that works and if not then saw it off and probably get some metal glue in case I want to change it back in the future.
