If allergy sufferers are having trouble with washing powder/liquid not being fully rinsed out of their cloths, then perhaps they should try using Ecoballs from Ecozone which rely on ionic action. I've used then for about 20 years. My husband was an electrician working on site, and I work in an office. Neither of us has had any issues with cloths not being washed well enough.
