Why would anyone want a warm loft?
Where is the heat coming from, and more to the point why?
And are you saying that felt, sagging between rafters with open laps, with unheated air on both sides actually is acting as some sort of insulation layer?

All ends well. Roofer put some felt down. Secured the tiles. I signed his sheet. Job complete. Gave him a tenner to buy himself some lunch. U wont guess what he did nxt. He got back up the ladder , took up a few more tiles heard a bit more banging. Put back tiles . Came dwn, took ladder and went. Can any roofers explain his actions?
Lol. My guess he knew another tile further along had a problem, which was true. He felt guilty that he did not tackle it even though he knew about it.
