Noisy tall monobloc tap

My monobloc tap is making a horrible noise. I've turned the water off at the valves under the basin and its still making the noise. Can somebody suggest why this is happening.

..... without more info even then you may struggle to get a response, How can a tap that is isolated from the supply make a noise ???

Exactly! Why is it still making a noise when the water has been turned off and the tap has been drained. I thought someone would be able to tell me.....

Okay chaps, I'm going to admit to a completely blonde moment which I hope you'll have a laugh over......having cleaned my teeth I put my electric toothbrush back in the pot which stands behind the tap, I apparently did not switch it off and the noise I could hear was the toothbrush rattling its way round the pot. I only put two and two together when I went to clean my teeth last night and the battery was dead. That however was after turning the water off and draining the pipes!!!! The lesson I have learnt is that I should not always look for the complex in every problem, sometimes the answer is very simple. I'm going to apply this lesson to crossword clues too. Thanks for your responses though.
