Moving heat around our shop? (Stockport area)

I've been trying to get a quote for some work my boss has proposed for in our shop, been bounced about by companies and trying to make the job more complex than (we think) we require.

We've a area of ~1300 cubic meters that is split height (all suspended ceiling covered with insulation) that we heat with 6 6kw? heaters which replace a tile and a log burner that puts out about 8kw.

The section at the back of the shop (Higher ceiling on a mezzanine floor) accumulates all the heat while the front of the shop stays cold.

We're looking at putting in a simple ventilation/ducting from the bulkhead where the ceiling height increases to draw in hot air and then vent it out of the ceiling at the front of the shop. We understand this will create air flow and hopefully balance the temperature around the shop though the heat will obviously always trying to rise.

The only advice we've been given is to use a heat recovery system, but it's a leaky old building and the 'seepage' will be much too high for these to work as I have understood from some brief reading and also not really required as I can gather?

Could anyone possibly give us an option for what kind of installation we'd want for this, or if we're thinking too simple and it's just not something that is done...

I have got some dimensions of the shop if required, though the most important value I can think of is that it's about 28 mtrs run from the intake to the vent above the ceiling which is unheated

It's going back 30 years or so, but the place where I worked had big ceiling fans to push the heat that was trapped in the roof back down. The contractor who did the work told me that at another place they had a duct running along the inside of the apex and through a fan back to ground level.
On a much smaller scale I put a small fan up in the roof of my own workshop to blow air down from the roof apex. It certainly felt a bit warmer after doing that, but no proper scientific facts.
So the idea seems to have at least some merit. More than that I don't know.

I think the laws of physics ( hot air rises) are going to make make things very difficult for you in the situation you describe, but I think the first thing you should be thinking of doing is installing a hot air curtain over the shop door.

Maybe not a solution for you.
We had a similar problem in our workshop and bought two inline extractor fans from a local hydroponic shop, this shifted the warm air around quite nicely.

Talk to the suppliers of destratification fans they may have the solution you are looking for.

They're the business but blooming expensive.

Thank God the inline extractors worked at only £50 each, and if they hadn't I could have started a cannabis grow.

I think we might try a cheap inline system like yourself terry for ~£150 with the insulated ducting I'll need per fan and see what results that gives...

I don't feel the cold so until I'm working upstairs I don't much care for big outlays

*Side note, destratification fans seem to talk about much higher run times to achieve results in the brief read up I did, would they still get results if running 8-9hrs per day in our open times?

Rob, we got our system parts local(ish)to yourself, longsight/Belie Vue way, I believe there's also a place at the bottom of Underbank near the RBS.
