Worth noting that whilst Elu disappeared in 1999, they were taken over by and also sold as deWalt for the best part of 10 years, so in most (all?) cases a deWalt NiCd or NiMH battery pack of equivalent amperage and voltage will fit and work in an Elu cordless tool
I bought a battery from eBay that was listed as a suitable replacement for an Elu EZWA60 battery. It arrived today, fits perfectly and works OK. The replacement battery cost me £20 for one so £40 for a pair if I get another as spare but it keeps my Elu cordless percussion drill working OK. It's just my personal preference but I would rather keep the Elu going than ditch it and get a new cordless drill.
