Thanks Razor, that's kind of what I would've expected.
So, it's a better idea to reduce the flow at the boiler then rather than the stop tap. Is it going to be best to go with Dan's original idea of a flow restrictor then? Can someone point me in the right direction of where to get one please? Are the flow rates fixed in the restrictors or can they be adjusted?

Before you go fitting restrictors just open stopcock fully and reduce flow at inlet tap to boiler. Set to a hot water out flow rate of about 10 litres per minute.
Then see how you find that and if the blue tap give you any noise problems.
Those restrictors are fixed flow rate.

Especially compared to your fave Worcesters which have all the plastic INSIDE the boiler
Last one I saw had a plastic front cover.
It had a Wilo pump.
The expansion vessel was an afterthought.
Have they improved them then since the last ones I saw at EcoBuild and in the merchants?

The front and back have always been metal.
The top plate and bottom tray is plastic.

Hang on though Dan, it might have been one of the display ones in the merchants with the see through plastic cover

The 24/18 has a built in flow restrictor perhaps the rest of the range should just be commissioned properly - like every other combi on the market
there is a good chance that there is some 22mm pipework still present when the cylinder was removed and the isar installed. gas rates and working pressure need checking too, as mentioned before.
if you look at the benchmark section of your boiler manual, it should be filled in and signed by your installer (and yourself) gas rates and temperature measurements, flow rates etc.
if not you need to speak to him again.

I am not sure about Intergas but most boiler makers will not do warranty repairs on any boiler where the Benchmark Certificate has not been completed.
In fact Gas Safe consider them as At Risk because the have not been commissioned ! That means they should be turned off and not used!
