Hoping a few of you guys on here will have one at home...

Which is it or if you don't have one, which would you buy and why?

I saw the H20 X5 on YouTube, some say it is flimsy.

I then saw the Vax steam mop, complaints of flimsy grout scrubbing brush and brittle plastics.

Next I looked at Shark, which seems to use exactly the same phrases as used on the H20 X5 promotional video; are they both made by Thane?

I also saw Karcher which are a well-regarded brand but they don't seem so versatile.

Cheers.

I have a Pifco 6in1.
It was pretty cheap but does what it says on the tin and quite well.

I've a steam cleaner, Italian make I think......the worst possible buy, does nowt that its claimed to apart from filling the room with steam. I expected it to be good on cooker surfaces, but no. I expected it to be good at grout cleaning - wrong again.
Hasn't been used in years now.

Just use a steam iron wrapped in a towel, does exactly the same as any fancy steam mop.

Heard lots of bad stories about the X5 only lasting a few months.

There's the H2O HD as well.

Has anyone got Which to tell me the best buy, please?

Cheers.

Buy a steam mop, then post on here in a few months, asking why you have got mould growing in corners / behind furniture :D

Funny you should bring this up. SWMBO has not long ordered one. Not sure which but can give you a review in a couple of days if you like. I'm sure she'll have some free time between using that and cooking the dinner.

Hope she doesn't read this post!!

Hi @securespark sorry it took a while to get back to you but been busy.

It was the H20 X5 that the other half got and have had it about 2 weeks now.

Got to say I can't really fault it as yet. We have two small dogs, lots of wooden floors and also carpets and it's surprising how much was lifted from the wooden floors! It copes with spills and marks on carpets too.

Small tank on it but we do actually prefer this as we have a three storey house so the lightweight is perfect for up and down stairs. Saying that though we get about 15 to 20 minutes per tank which is usually more than ample for a quick run around.

I looked at the adverts for it and have to say I thought it would be gimmicky but it does everything that should do as far as we have found out so far.

Definitely impressed with it.

Anything you want to know just ask.

Jon

Thanks AH, that's great!

When I started out looking at steam mops, this was the first I latched on to, as it was the most advertised TBH.

I have since heard complaints they are flimsy.

Some Vax models get a good Which? write-up, as I have discovered, also the Holme/ Abode models which I have never heard of, but are cheap and rate highly with Which?
