I've got a blocked kitchen sink. So far I've tried:
* caustic soda
* baking soda and vinegar
* boiling water
* removing each pipe section and cleaning the pipes. There were to be two sections which were noticeably clogged.
After I did all this and put the pipes back together, the blockage was still there, but this time it seemed to block even quicker, almost immediately after I turned on the tap. It's like it was blocked at the very top section of the pipework this time. I tried vinegar and boiling water again. Now the sink still gets blocked, but not straight away, after about 5 seconds of water running.
There is a pipe that is now slow-dripping water after I put the pipework back together, it looks like it was sealed with epoxy originally. It is the U-shaped part of the pipework at the bottom of the run, which is connected to the exit pipe.
So the questions I have:
Could that slow-leaking pipe be the cause of this "new" blockage, after I cleaned all the pipes?
Could there still be blockage material and sludge leftover in the pipework even though I dismantled the pipework? * I did sections at a time instead of doing the entire pipework in one go, and I ran the tap to see if the blockage had cleared every time I put a section of pipework back in place. Could there still be blockage material shifting from one section of pipe to another which I've possibly missed during the cleaning process?
Is there another reason the pipe could be blocking up? I remember reading somewhere about how a vent could block pipework?
