My boiler is losing about .2 bar of water pressure every 24 hours from the pressure release valve. Has any member of the forum got any ideas why this might happen? Is it just a matter of replacing the valve or could there be an other reason for the cause of this problem. I use mains pressure cold water however this fault happen prior to upgrading to mains pressure. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

BUT WHAT IS THE SYSTEM PRESSURE?????

If it is normal at around .7 to 1 bar COLD and does not rise excessivly when hot you have a leaking pressure release valve.

Turning it a few times might, if you are lucky, dislodge any muck trapped on seat of valve otherwise it needs replacing.

The pressure is at 1.2bar and doesn't rise much when the boiler heats up.
Thanks for you comments

If you also have water leaking out of the over flow (outside) you may have a problem with the expansion vessile, this will happen when the boiler pressure reaches 3 bar, the valve will open pushing water outside
