Fair point, I've got a 'man who can' booked in to safety test now
This is really a job for a RGi man , how will you know if it's not leaking gas when you replace the solenoid ? Get a professional in and sleep easy
When you replace the solenoid valve you have to disturb the rubber seal on the valve body , this can leak when the solenoid is activated and to check this you really need a gas sniffer probe ..
Solenoid fitted and boiler fired up straight away. The rgi I had on standby for the valve also said that there were no seals or anything that would be disturbed thanks all for your input, much appreciated
That's not the point. How will he know he hasn't caused a leak? How would he know if the repaired solenoid is closing fully?how will the op cause a leak?
