Hi,

Don't know if anyone can advise, the small silver box in our airing cupboard attached to the cylinder (picture attached) has started buzzing consistently. Can anyone advise as to what the problem might be? Also, is it a big problem (besides the irritating buzzing) and do I need to get someone in to look at it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's the three-port valve that controls your heating and hot water. Buzzing could indicate that the motor is wearing out; a fairly simple job to do and something that could be considered as preventative maintenance

Make sure the 2screws holding the cover down are tight first, may be just vibration.

I can see no drips from above, make sure there's no leakage from beneath indicating a leak through the valve spindle, dampness can cause this shorting buzzing. Look, don't touch.

Did you ever find out what was causing the issue/did you get it fixed? Ours does the same and I've just come across your post
