Maybe he's been advised to take it down. (His post not the cupboard!)

The kiosk, with no mounting bracket for the meter, was not fit for purpose.

What's with all these flexible pipes? We had a regulator fail a couple of years ago, the chap from the gas company came out and replaced it, but wasn't happy with the lead tails so replaced the incoming one with copper pipe, which was nicely bent to fit the installation. I came across minor leaks on 3 installations last year when checking for main bonding, the gas board arrived quickly on every occasion to check. All three were failed flexible pipes leaking from where the weld connects the the corrugated part to the connector.
