hi guys,
im looking into buying a new kitchen which is easy enough to fit, however i wish to pick your brains on electrics and wire sizing. when installing a kitchen i wish to move the cooker point to the opposit wall and will lengthen the cable by fitting it into a rose to joint it(is there a better way)the cable is less than 10 mtrs and is 6mm cooker cable, however when i move the point to the opposit wall i wish for it to run 2 built in ovens. this i will do by wiring them both to one cooker isolation switch with 6mm in two direct spurs from the switch.(is that the right way of doing it)
ive just checked the cooker fuse for the rating and it says b32 and mt132 it is a rdc type fuse
would the rating of the fuse be an issue and will 6mm cable pull the ampage of two ovens safely
thanks
terry

direct from wickes book a rated 0.79 kw consumption thats all i know as ive not bought them yet the 4800w one is a homebase one hence catalogued specifications not being the same

Neither of those numbers is right.

4800W is not the rating of any domestic oven. It might however be the total load, excluding diversity, of an electric cooker or hob, or possibly of a double oven with grill and/or pyrolytic cleaning.

0.79kw is not the load of any domestic oven, hob or cooker. However there is a chance that 0.79kWh (not the same thing) might be the typical usage of an oven over an hour, though it would vary with oven temperature.

thanks for your replies stillip and john, the rose i refer to is that used on lighting cable in cable out which i think will be better than a block connector wouldnt it.
what ratings for two ovens should i be looking at, can i just connect two cables from one switch.
will having two appliances running at the same time overload existing 6mm feed at 32 amp fuse rating
what do i need to be asking retailer to ensure i buy without exceeding the load rating of the cable, is it as simple as not exceeding the 32 amp fuse rating
thanks
what connectors should be used to joint cable thanks

That's what I feared you meant! No, that won't do, you need a proper Junction Box (JB). Something like this: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Produc...e=b&ad_type=&gclid=CLf1jvGpkcsCFS8z0wodyGcLlQ

What ovens are you looking at?

will having two appliances running at the same time overload existing 6mm feed at 32 amp fuse rating
That depends on the ratings of the two ovens.
