Hi All,

So one of the rubber pipes are leaking on my boiler :(

I have read there is a copper pipe modification kit to replace the 2 x 4 inch rubber pipe.

Does anyone know the part number or have a link so I can purchase one ??

Many thanks

Jason

Hmm I guess it might be, it is due for a service anyway so can get him to fit them at the same time. Would be handy if I can find out the right part number ahead of time though.

Pretty naff design really though why on earth would they use rubber pipes, obviously it will fail at the joints over time and start leaking water.

Phone vaillant spares phone line, they will give you the correct number

Probably cheaper to get Vaillant to do a fixed price repair. That way they will do everything that is needed to guarantee the boiler for another year. They did several things on my 937 for the fixed price...not cheap but a guaranteed fix.

Maybe it is necessary to have some flexibity to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of some components.
Vaillant altered the design on most later ecoTECs for a sliding copper coupling, because they couldn't stop their hoses leaking.

Its odd how different makers get problems with different parts.

A dreadful boiler was the old Saunier Duval. They had lots of plastic components which always leaked.

But they also had two rubber hoses and they never leaked! But they did use good quality stainless steel Jubilee clips compared with the quick close one time Vaillant clips.

A DIYer should not even be removing the sealed front cover of the Vaillant Ecotecs.
