JohnD, you know full well, that I treat Pro EU arguments as pure speculation, because that's what they are. Pure speculation. I don't deny things that are right in front of my face (like the situation in Sweden, like the situation in Greece , Macedonia , Italy etc.) I don't deny that something happened in Cologne on New Years Eve either, and I certainly don't deny that it was non natives who sexually abused local women that night either. I certainly don't deny what happened in Paris not so long ago. Of course this will make you imply that I'm xenophobic, racist etc.
However, I can see the benefit of controlled immigration into this country. What I can't see, is the benefit of allowing all and sundry into this country (which of course the EU want)

I have never been against "controlled immigration" I am very much against uncontrollable immigration. Yes we need skilled people in industry, construction, the NHS etc. What we don't need are hundreds of thousands of unskilled, migrants who have absolutely Bob Hope of getting gainful employment. What do you think we get with the EU freedom of movement? Do you seriously think every Pole, Roma, Czech, and whatever are all skilled people? I know quite a few Eastern Europeans who are signing on at the brew (dole office for you Southerners) because they don't have the skills employers are looking for. I think that's how most sensible people see it (and I'm speaking as an immigrant myself, albeit to a different country). But we all know that there are certain people who will try and twist around any observation about immigration to make accusations of xenophobia, racialism, etc. They're the modern-day equivalent of medieval witch-hunters.
