Wiring PIR \ Light \ Light Switch

Hi

Can any one help me out, I want to wire an outside light, PIR to a light switch.

When Light Switch is ON I want the Light to come ON (PIR Off at this point)

When Light Switch is OFF I want the PIR to come ON working with the Light

So in essence, i want to control light ON\OFF with the light switch but when in Off mode, the PIR will take over controlling the light on ON\OFF.

Just confused how i would wire this? 2 way light Switch?

Any help \ diagram appreciated

Bring supply to 1G 1W switch.

Line to common, along with line to PIR.

Connect switched output of PIR direct to L1 terminal.

Connect neutral of supply to neutral feed of PIR.

Depending on how the cabling is routed, either connect the light fitting's wiring to the switch (using L1 & neutral) or at the PIR (using the switched output and neutral, not the wire connected to common.

I have eliminated the cpc in these directions, but connect it up, ensuring continuity throughout.

It is a good idea to have a DP isolated switch (fused if the supply is off a socket outlet circuit) before the 1G switch so if there is a fault with the external equipment or wiring, it can quickly and easily be isolated from the rest. Also, because your 1G switch will not isolate the supply, you need an isolation switch to change lamps.

The 1G switch in the up position allows the PIR to work as normal, switching the load on and off as detected.

When you switch to the down position, the light will come on and not turn off until the switch is returned to the up position.
Depending on the make of PIR, there may be delay in switching off once the switch is opened.

Apart from the fact your "fused spur" is a 1G1W switch...

It is a DP switch you need.

If you wire it as per your diagram, the fuse will pop when you close the isolation switch.

Needs to be like this (excuse crude alterations):

What circuit is it being supplied from?
If it's coming from a lighting circuit with a 6A MCB, you can fit any double pole isolator (e.g. 20A is fine).
If it's a spur from a socket circuit, you need an FCU with e.g. a 3A fuse.

Thought that will blow as suggested earlier?
 
It won't blow, no. (Who suggested that?)
But you need a fuse, i.e. in an FCU, because the wires to the light and PIR will be thinner than those in the socket circuit.

Ok thanks, i'll put in a FCU with a 3A fuse

I mentioned the fuse would pop if he wired a 1G1W switch in the manner he proposed...

And it would, with a dead short across the switch! But if you are wiring off the sockets, you need to fuse down.
