Hi
We are looking to replace our ensuite bathroom suite and also fit a shower in the room.

You enter the bathroom through a dressing room which has a few fitted wardrobes. The dressing area is about 2.5m long x 1m wide plus the depth of the wardrobes.
Now the bathroom is about 2.6m x 2.5m and I had a crazy idea that you could knock the wall out (a none supporting wall) to open the room out and give me a deluxe large bathroom now you enter the dressing area through an arch so there would be no door now is these an issue, 1/ from a building regs point of view and 2/ from a practical point of view? I've seen bedrooms with baths in them so thought it may be possible but not sure?

Any advice appreciated

No
I work somewhere that has a slipper bath essentially in the middle of their bedroom ,walk in shower 2x vanity basins up a couple of steps with half height wall.
The toilet though is housed within its own little room.
Nothing worse than waking up in the morning rolling over and there's your Mrs straining in the corner.

None of my bathrooms or toilets upstairs have doors. They have design so you can't see round corners into the actual toilet.

 Heavy duty extraction fans in each one. I forgot though the downstairs WC has a door.
Our en suite has a door also but the whole thing is open plan with just a wall screening the pan from the rest.
That bedroom is open plan with the toilet behind the bath tap wall, but no door.
It's hard to explain but it works. :D

I don't even like the thought of someone listening to me in the loo, let alone watching.

Image sitting there, huffing & puffing, biting hard on a thong of leather - to push out a 2" diameter log & the wife on the bed reading her magazine???!!!
'Hand me over that brush handle luv, till I push my Farmer Giles back into place'.

No thanks Shambo, it's just not happening!!
