Hi - woman in distress!!
My fridge decided to pack up in the night and fused the kitchen sockets. After trying a few times to find the fault the boiler now won't work. It comes on for a few seconds and then goes off with F flashing. Presumably we have knacked something keep switching it on and off. It's a glow worm flexicom 24cx.
Before I get a 'man that can' for an arm and a leg can anyone tell if this would appear to be a major or minor problem.
Many thanks

I don't think so... I'm at work so can't check :( I'll try and nip home later. Thanks

Sorry - I've obviously come here with half the info :( Typical woman......

If I remember correctly the flexicom has the Symsi PCB in it that doesn't take kindly to the voltage being turned off and on again, any work being carried out on the boiler or being looked at in a slightly funny way!

Find out what the full "F" fault code is and hopefully it is something simple but my money is going to be a dodgy PCB if it is the Symsi model.

that's an unknown error, turn off the boiler on the wall switch for a minute, turn on if it doen't work, press the reset button

Thanks Guys!! I'll get him to try the reset - if that doesn't work will go down the PCB route. He repairs computers so maybe he could do that himself?

Reset he can do himself. PCB will require an RGI to come out and 100% diagnose first. The PCB controls safety aspects of the boiler and should not be repaired, they need to be replaced, and it requires an RGI to fit it as there are certain tests that need to be carried out for the safe operation of your appliance.

Who is the "him" who will be resetting the boiler?

What has been done to the kitchen sockets apparently damaged by the fridge?

Tony

Jon I was thinking maybe he could replace PCB but obviously not - we will get someone in. Many thanks

Definitely get someone in to actually diagnose properly as I am just basing it on experience of these boards and boilers. There are a few simple checks that can be done to test it but they do need an RGI to do them.
