So I have a light switch in a stud wall. I want to cut a door in the wall where the switch is and move the switch to the side. I know cables should run vertically. But my issue is I cant access the ceiling void without cutting a hole in the ceiling to move the cable over. Can you run the cable horizontally along the top of the stud work then vertically down to the switch or do I have to cut a hole in the ceiling and drill the joists to move the cable over?
Thanks

Within the top 150mm (6 inch) of the top of the wall is a permitted cabling route, as is within the same distance of a corner.
