Shed build - couple of questions!

you need someone to complain for it to be a problem
if its only a few inches who is going to know
most people dont even know about the restrictions
besides you can go the planning route and get it bigger anyway-----------------

------- probably

Exactly!!

Shame it's been raining most of the week - not managed to get anything done :(

when i made my shed i laid the floor and wall frames braces to the floor
a frames and roof first over 3 days the roof was the ply sheets uncovered
i then used the panels from the old argos 8x6ft shed as temporary walls
i then used the structure with a tarp to help dry the 4.8 and 4.5mtxg shiplap as it was delivered covered in snow rather than stored under cover as promised
stored it undercover for about 1- 2 weeks i then transferred 5 or 6 lengths at a time to the unheated spare room for 1-2 weeks then the heated front room for 1-2 weeks
i then cut them to length and installed with screws ----

---big mistake 2 years down the line on a very hot sunny summer daylight through the planks
removed all but the top and bottom planks worked from bottom up with 2-3mm gap and down 2 planks from the top
i then had to make up a special reduced board from a cut down plank and a rebate rather than the groove double depth to take up the discrepancies in the 50-60mm gap between the boards
i then planted a part board strip screwed to the back to compensate for the back off the groove
now you can understand why i go on about the coverage and how dry the timber is  dry so much

as an aside had to mix up the boards to avoid the screws going to the same holes
the same way you do when tightening up gaps in old floorboards

Indeed I can big-all!

I laid some decking in a period of very changeable weather and it played havoc with my expansion gaps!! Typical British weather!!

My shiplap has been drying in a warm garage for a month now, just need to decide on colour before I start to install it as I'll need to pre-clad the rear panel.

We've got another week of rain as yet, so no rush, lol!!
