I have a shed that I am building which will be finished with sadolin Superdec.

Most of the timber used has been pressure treated, but some of the timber, doors/windows/liners, is bare & untreated.

Any suggestions on which preserver is best to use before the Superdec? Sadolin suggest two coats of their quick drying wood preserver, but I have also read that some prefer Sadolin classic as a base.

I have some solvent based cuorinol shed & fence treatment that I could use, but was concerned about compatibility.

Any suggestions much appreciated :)

Thanks ic1927 - I had also heard of a few other decs who reommend the same.

Does it offer any anti rot protection though? I'll have a read of the datasheets.

It does, it's ideal for bare wood as it penetrates deep and it's protective qualities are well proven. If you want though you can use a specific wood preserver, Sadolins do a water based one, Everbuild wood preserver is another good one. We've done loads of exterior new timber over the years using classic as a basecoat/preservative under superdec, it works well, really well.

Thanks again ic1927.

I'll be overcoating with Iberis White, so will go for the lightest shade they do!

Classic comes in a few shades of white, opal white, peach white, birch white, you can find a classic colour chart online.
