Hi Everyone,

I've just signed up, here is a project that I completed just over a year ago, it took me somewhere between two to three months from start to finish working after work and weekends, I would class myself as an over ambitious intermediate level DIYer but thankfully my fiancé's granddad is usually on hand to help should I get stuck.

Basically the purpose of this was to build a man cave with a feature wall which house the TV, surround sound and consoles with all wires hidden etc but I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I'll take some up to date pictures tomorrow when its daylight again but i'm moving house in a few weeks so unfortunately I have to leave this behind but I really enjoyed the build process even the insanely frustrating parts!

I think that you've done an excellent job especially skim plastering inside the recesses. You've finished all detailing to a high standard, something many DIY'ers give up on.
Next time a couple of pointers (not criticism) might help?
Sweep the flue before any work starts.
Vent the flue at the bottom and the top.
Pre-paint u/coat & first coat before fixing skirting to a painted wall surface.
Have the abandoned gas line capped off back at source.
Replace outlet/device plates with new.

Good job.
