I'm planning a structure 7.6m long, 2.6m wide, barrel roof 126 degrees of 1.5m radius with a slightly smaller eyebrow over the entryway, should take 3.35m of roof to cover the 1.5m radius.
Needs to take windy, rainy, coastal woodland type abuse and will be on wheels so the occasional tow down the road, hopefully only once in a few years. Weight is an issue, hoping to stay under 180kg
I don't know for sure what I'm doing for the roofing material, thinking standing seam metal but I'm waiting to hear back from the metal roofing guys in my area and afraid that either they can't do it or it'll be too expensive.
Meanwhile I'm looking at rubber options and around here I can get EPDM 3.05m wide or 6.1m wide, which leaves me paying extra for 2.75m wider than I need or I'm .3 meter thin.
I could do a 1.68m radius that would need 2.92m wide EPDM and that way I can use the thinner roll and have .13m per side to roll over or something. I'm not sure and I'd like to stick with the tighter curve on the roof if I could.
Haven't started building yet and it's never too late to redesign.
Anyone with round roof experience to share?
