Hello,

My neighbours have the above alarm in their rented property.

It recently started nuisance alarming so they removed the fuse from the FCU until it died.

On trying to repower the alarm all they are now getting is a series of double beeps, and from the manual that seems to indicate a problem with zone two.

Checking the zone with my DMM showed the zone to be open circuit, so I tried placing a link wire in the zone, but powering down and repowering had the exact same result (double beeps)

Thinking the alarm might need something a bit more clever I moved the pairs from zone 1 across to zone 2 as zone one seemed to be opening and closing ok (front door contact) but again no change.

I have also replaced the battery.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Are there any other led lit eg tamper, power and zone leds ?
Have you checked you have power to detectors ?

I'm not round there at the min, but from power on basically everything lights up at once then goes off, and then when the double beep stars occurring, only the unset and power lights are lit.

They only have door contacts. No detectors.

Is it a quick bipbip or long beep -----beep ? As the long tone is correct .... Does it set ? Or is it on final door set ? You have to open , then close the exit door for it to set

when you hear the double beep, is zone 2 illuminated?

As they should both exist together to confirm a fault on zone 2, either when trying to set, or during a walk test.

did you swap 1 and 2 around, and were you infront of the zone 2 device at the time you were testing?
As any movement in front of a pir may have triggered it if your perfectly still it may stop, wont be the first time I have been to a house where they say its activating and the reasoning being someone is moving in front of it but they have said not, so as sparkymarka has asked does it set?

obviously a link in the zone should not cause that zone to go active.

I need glasses.

when the panel is rebooted it starts the setting process., any active zones will be illuminted when the panel starts beeping, indicating its in exit, then the zone going active the beeps change and the zone light illuminates to indicate the active zone.

so when you put the link in and the panel started beeping was zone 2 illuminated?

No. No zone 2 light was Illuminated.

I'll go have another look tomorrow and get some more info. It's been a long week!

Thanks so far all.

Will it power up from the battery only? It is quite easy to pop the fuse F1, I cant remember what fault it throws up tho.
