using polyplumb pipe

i want to cut into an existing cold supply which is in 15mm polyblumb piping and insert an equal tee. i will then run polypipe hose tap in my garage.(previously discussed) about 4-5 metres away

i have a copper pipe cutter and wonder if it will be ok to cut the poly pipe with this
if not, i am only going to do about 8-10 cuts total, what tool should i buy to do a decent job.

i have some copper compression fittings which i may be able to use so if i can use them are copper olives entirely necessary?

i understand that the polypipe cut ends need inserts for all joints

Use inserts from the pipe manufacture and Copper olives are softer than Brass so will grip better.

@mrcrow: c'mon fella... Why don't you just buy the pushfit fittings and the inserts and be done with it? It'll cost you a few squid and you'll be done in no time! Forget the compression fittings... You'll have to go and buy the inserts anyway!

Ideally the cuts need to be dead square, and a slicing tool is available to do this.
Don't use e copper pipe slice.

If you are using compression fittings it doesn't matter as much how you cut the pipe, if using Pushfit fittings you need to ensure a clean, square cut with no damage or scoring to the pipe where the grip and "O" ring sit.

i buy a cutter..i may need it again for future jobs

and dont use compression fittings
